Todd and Tyler had to go to Boston for work so me, Kaitlynn and the babies decided to go along. I was worried about messing up Elle's schedule that I had just worked so hard on perfecting (only to realize there's no such thing as a perfect schedule), but she did great!
Slept in her boppy on my lap the whole flight.
Since we had a nanny with us to help with the babies, we took advantage and went to the Aeorsmith concert one night. Parents night out!! The babies were sleeping when we left, which eased our minds a bit. It was the first time I had left Elle with someone other than family! She was in good hands though. And we were well overdue for an adult night with alcoholic beverages.
Aerosmith was already rocking out when we arrived, but we needed our cocktails first. We all make a beeline to the drink stands. All I can think about is how much I deserve that glass of wine. It's been stressful traveling with a newborn. And nanny credentials or not, she's still basically a stranger. Who I just left my sweet baby with. So I'm going to make the best of this big night out!
But then they refused to serve us. They needed back up id from Kaitlynn and I which we didn't have. The boys' licenses were duplicates and according to some ridiculous Boston law they couldn't serve us. You're joking. Have you ever seen a first time mom denied a glass of wine on her night out away from her baby? It wasn't pretty.
In the end, it was still a great night. We had a great view and Steven Tyler killed it even at his old age. Not so sure about the other band members.. I was worried they wouldn't make it through the show.
Daddy duty
Caught him taking a break
I always lay Elle down to go to bed when she's sleepy but still awake. Usually, you have to pat, shush or my favorite- rub her eyes until she falls asleep. Tonight I laid her down in her nap nanny while me and Todd finished getting dressed. We were going to put her to sleep in the nannys room when we were ready to go. I was rushing around trying to get dressed and after a little while it hit me that I hadn't heard peep from Elle. We forgot she was even still in the room with us! She put herself to sleep for the first time. Todd and I were so proud.
Little did we know just because she did it once didn't mean she would do it everytime...
Woke up to these two like this
Enjoying the city life
